Configure GPS Tracker Settings
Load the asset / part page and click on 'edit tracker settings'.
Choose one of the following modes:
Mode 1: Fixed time interval
The simplest mode of operation, where the pre-set times are used for asset location and data broadcast. Broadcast times can be adjusted from once per week to a maximum of once per hour, using the Location time interval slider.
This mode provides the most accurate estimate of tracker battery life but provides the shortest battery life when set to frequent intervals.
Mode 2: Fixed time interval (with motion check)
This mode improves the battery life significantly by only broadcasting at the pre-set times when physical motion of the asset has been detected. For example, if you set the tracker to report every hour, it will only acquire location and broadcast for every hour when motion has been detected within that hour.
Motion threshold can be configured to levels appropriate to the use case and environment using the Motion detection START and STOP sliders.
Mode 3: Intelligent (Location on motion stop)
This is our recommended mode for balance of location accuracy and battery life. In this mode the tracker is constantly measuring asset motion and when the asset stops moving, location is acquired and broadcasted.
The benefit of this mode is that energy and data is only used when location data needs updating, providing the closest to real-time data. An infrequent fallback broadcast interval is configurable for assets in long term storage.
Motion threshold and resting time can be set to ensure accurate detection when an asset changes location. These can be adjusted using the Motion detection START and STOP sliders.
