Recycle Asset

Stop tracking an asset and unpair its tracker for reuse.

Recycle an asset when you want to stop tracking it, but keep it as a historic record.

Recycling marks the asset as historic and unpairs its tracker (BLE Tag, UWB Tag, GPS tracker, Smart Fluid Level monitor). The tracker is then ready to be assigned to another asset.

Recycle is not the same as delete.

• Recycle: stops tracking and unpairs the tracker. The asset becomes historic.

• Delete: permanently removes the asset. This is not reversible.

How to recycle an asset

Open the asset

Find the asset using search or the asset listings.

Scroll to Admin actions

Admin actions sit at the bottom of the asset page.

Recycle the asset

Click Recycle asset, then confirm.

What happens next

• The asset is marked Historic.

• The tracker becomes unpaired and can be reused.

• To start tracking again, launch a new asset and assign the tracker.

If you need the asset removed completely, use delete instead.

Accessible to user groups: Admin, Super Admin

Troubleshooting

I can’t see “Recycle asset”

• You’re likely not an Admin user.

• Your role may not include Admin actions.

• The asset may already be Historic.

I recycled the asset but the tracker still looks “in use”

• Give the portal a moment to refresh the asset state.

• If it persists, raise a ticket with the asset serial and tracker serial.
